2012 'Nicol Jackson' Women's Series

This series is intended to promote
female participation in cycling. The series has been renamed
the 'Nicol Jackson Women's Series' to recognise the contribution that Nicol has made to HPRW
since she and husband Neil became members in 2004. They have always been keen competitors
and willing helpers at our events, opened their home for a social function and donated The Neil
Jackson Plumbing annual trophy which is awarded to one of our deserving volunteers.

Nicol always lined up for as many events as possible and was a fierce competitor until she

unfortunately contracted Motor Neurone Disease late in 2010. However, with typical spirit Nicol

continues to fight the debilitating illness today.

Re-naming the event to the "Nicol Jackson Women's Series",  provides a wonderful opportunity to

honor a woman who has been so passionate about the sport, supported HPRW for years and

continued to race and ride her bike until she no longer could. Keep up the fight Nicol, our thoughts

are always with you.

Many thanks to Mel Symon, Karen Forster and Gary Alcorn for making this happen.
