Aussie Track ChampsClub members Mitch Mulhern and Owen Gillott competed at the Australian track championships along with pastmembers Nick Shultz and Doug Torr. Mitch claimed a Bronze in the 4Km Individual pursuit with a time of 4:23.857 behind Qld's Micheal Hepburn (4:17:481) and Rohan Dennis (4:20:004) and a Silver in the 4Km Team pursuit (which included Nick). The team pursuit was packed with world champions Jack Bobridge, Rohan Dennis for SA, Michael Hepburn for QLD, and Luke Durbridge for WA. It was Bobridge,Dennis, Alexander Edmonston and Glenn O'Shea. Nick and Mitch had a minor mishap touching wheels just after the finish in qualifying. In the final the SA team rode an amazing time of 3:56.834 - the fastest ever on Australian soil, and faster than the world championship time from 2011! The qld boys were overtaken by SA just before the end. Mitch also rode brilliantly in the 40km Points race, who was in the most important move of the race joining a strong group including winner Bobridge that lapped the field collecting 20pts. points race highlights on SBS Owen won Bronze in the U19 Madison with Jesse Kerrison. Nick Schultz was 4th in the U19 3000m IP, and 4th in the U19 Points race final. Well done boys and it was great to watch it on SBS live and see all the queenslanders and hamilton riders doing so well.
