TWILIGHT SERIES - D & E GRADE Here's a message from Peter McDonald who is organising a great series for D & E Grade riders. Please note this is for HPRW members only. As we have discussed at past HPRW meetings us 'old folks' will organize and run races for D & E Grade at 4.30 pm sharp, prior to the start of the main Twilight Races. Roger Bower and I will officiate as Level 1 Comms with assistance from others - there should not be a big number of riders. I have secured a small amount of sponsorship for D Grade ($100) & E Grade ($50) for the best rider of the series as well as small trophies. I would like to change the format of the races to add a bit of variety. 1. Club Members only may race. Races to start at 4.30 pm sharp. 2. Races are for genuine D & E Grade riders who have raced in these grades for most of the season. These are not "easy pickings" for riders who are capable of riding in higher grades. Handicapper to have final say (as usual). 3. The races to be :- Race 1 - A 20 min Crit race. Race 2- A points race (first across the line at each lap gets a point. Last lap is points 3, 2, 1.) Race 3 - A series of 3 lap sprints with 30 sec rest between. Race 4 - A points race, as above. Race 5 - A 20 min Crit race. 4. Rider of Series to be scored on best 4 results from the 5 races in series. Regards, Peter Mc |
